What does it mean to be a Christian?
Ask 100 people that question and you are likely to get 100 different answers. One reason people have such difficulty defining what a Christian should be is that the Bible never gives a definition. The followers of Jesus did not defer to themselves as Christians, it was a label placed on them from the outside. The early believers called themselves disciples, and the Bible is very clear in defining what a disciple looks like.
Jesus gave his disciples one word that should define them. What if we as his followers embodied this one word? What if our behavior was so consistent with this word that folks around us were drawn to us—and to God?

Small group study book
By Aaron on Oct 25, 2013
First encounter with Andy Stanley and my wife and I love it so far. We are watching the DVD along with the study. The DVD is better than the book. The book asks simple, redundant questions but does have some helpful content that isn't in the accompanying DVD. The DVD is awesome and I'd encourage people to only buy the two together.
Good workbook - Follows DVD

This workbook is a good addition to the Andy Stanley "Christian" DVD. It has good questions for discussions. Our study group gained insight into the Christian series by using the workbook. Amazon delivered our 4 books within 3 days of ordering them. Very good!

Could be a quarter of the size

The author uses a whole lot of words to convey simple topics. The main content is good, but it really felt like it was stretched out so it could be published and sold.
A Must Read!

Andy clearly identifies a huge gaping problem in the "Christian" Church today. He also clears up the question of, "What am I supposed to do?" in clear and simple words that are Biblically indisputable.

This study is life changing. You really need the DVD to go along with it. It will change your view of your faith in Christ, it will change the way you look at non-christian's, it will allow you to let go of the burdens you have been holding onto for so many years! Get it! Study it! Live it!

I ordered this on Kindle for a study at church, which has a video to go with the book. Love the daily work and the dialogue in class.
Let's change for good!

This book is based on a very insightful distinction between Christian and a disciple of Christ. It challenges me to examine myself to see is my faith is based in an on going transition to be more like Jesus.
Define whose you are to provide focus

Andy Stanley is a great communicator. He challenges us to think about branding and what it means to be a disciple or Jesus follower rather than just "Christian"
Not the usual North Point study guide
By Casey Lauterbach on May 01, 2013
I like the structure of this guide. It gives you a summary and some forward thought at the end of each chapter and has a recap at the beginning of the next chapter. However, the discussion questions are . . .spacey. They are very vague. Our group had to read them several times and try to translate what they were really asking. This is one of my least favorite study guides from them but one of my favorite series. If you have the DVD, I recommend watching the full sermons.
We should we Disciples not just Christians
By David Burgess on Feb 07, 2014
This book makes me realize that we should be very careful when we Judges others, because the bible tells us to only judge the insiders in our church and let God do the judging of the (outsiders) lost. We are to love the lost, not to judge them and this is how to win them to the saving grace of Jesus Christ. This book has help me to grow in my Faith.
