This book is long on "for instance" real world examples and short on a more academic approach. If my instructor wasn't lecturing on the chapters, I would be lost. Also, was unable to get this book used..its VERY expensive
This is a great book.

The book itself is required for one of my classes. It is very interesting and informative. It does a great job in bringing in multiple perspectives and helping students to look at different cultures.
Digital books rock!

The ease oh having the book in digital form on my iPad is the best! I no longer have a pile of books each quarter for school.
This is a must read to help bridge cultural misconceptions!

The Intercultural Competence (7th Edition) book provides insight into the many aspects relating to intercultural communication patterns such as beliefs, values, norms and social practices . The authors provide a holistic view into the characteristics of each culture, and scholarly views to support their findings. My advice to every reader is to approach the text with an open mind, and with a flexible perception to be able to understand that there are differences in every culture. Be mindful, that generalizing every view or perception will differ from peripheral views. Finally, in my opinion, this is an excellent book, and I highly recommend it.

I love getting my text books on kindle, saves me money and the hassle of carrying around all my books. Saves my back too, because I am not carrying around 3-4 books just my iPad :)

Some of this information can be dry since it is theories about communication. However, this book is littered with awesome examples of other cultural ways of thinking, common mishaps, and wonderful advice. This information forever changed my view, and now I feel somewhat an expert on intercultural communication. I even posted some of the short stories on Facebook.

I read this for my class on culture as it relates to conflict and conflict resolution. I found the book interesting, easy to read and informative. (Some books are pretty dry, this is a graduate course.)
