Taking the reader from the beginning stages of a fire investigation in evidence collection and evaluating a fire scene to the end stages of report writing and giving testimony, internationally recognized forensic scientist John DeHaan is joined by forensic fire engineering expert David Icove for the 7th edition of Kirk’s Fire Investigation. The model curriculum of the Fire Emergency Service Higher Education (FESHE) group serves as a basis for this important text which provides updated and expanded information on fire dynamics, ignition as well as brand new case examples. With appendices unique in content and focus including an Evidence Collection Kit and Incident Report Forms, this text serves as the keystone text in the field for both seasoned fire investigators as well as fire service professionals seeking the fundamentals and the most up-to-date information for the field of fire investigation.

Kirk's Fire Investigation 7th.Ed. is the most resent and up to date fire investigation book in the market. This latest work by John DeHaan, Ph.D. and David Icove, Ph.D. was found to be interesting, instructive and up to date, following the latest recomended practices in the field of fire investigation. I recomemd it and suggest that it be use in any fire investigation training curriculum program. It should be included in all investigators reference library.

Kirk's is a well accepted book as it applies to the world of fire investigation. There is standard application and examples of ignition sources concerning respective categories.
Very useful publication.

I use Kirk's Fire Investigation to supplement my NFPA 921. It is especially useful in aiding me in putting my conclusions into perspective when report writing.

Great product, it was actually wrapped by the publisher and had the access card with it. I had already bought one, but it came with it, that was not advertised with the book sale. Overall, excellent!

This was a used copy, but was in impeccable shape, really like new. It was an excellent textbook for her course. Good source of information on the topic for Arson Investigation.

Good For Any Investigator or Entry-Level
By Narimatsu on Oct 09, 2013
I have read this book first when it was a 3rd ed. I had decided that I needed an updated version and I have never been disappointed. It was exactly what I expected and it is as good as when I first read the 3rd edition. This edition is even better because it contains updates as the field of Fire Investigation is ever changing to a degree and it has great color illustrations that the previous edition that I had did not. Like the edition I have read before this one continues to be a well-balanced text providing both entry-level investigators as well as those well practiced in the field a great reference. It is written and organized great skill. It allows you to find a topic quickly. Or it allows the student easy learning objectives and highlights key points along the way. I would highly recommend this book for the beginner as well as someone already practicing that needs a great reference. This is a well-respected author and that is reflected throughout the text.
Great Condition, better than listed
By Fyrefyterlarry on May 09, 2012
I ordered this book and paid the extra money to get it shipped next day. It was still cheaper than driving 20 miles to the College Bookstore to buy it. It was listed as "Acceptable" for its condition and I would have listed it as "Like New." It had no highlighter marks, pencil marks or any damage I was able to find at all. I thought it was a brand new book. This was my first Amazon order ever for a textbook. Great Job.Thanks
but I did it and I am glad. Its not hard to read

I fought buying another version of the same thing, but I did it and I am glad. Its not hard to read, and if you get dragged into court by some lawyer that wants to Daubert you out, you can dazzle them with what you have learned from this book, because it's in there.
