Written by a former community corrections professional, PROBATION AND PAROLE, 11/e provides an insider's view of probation and parole. Featuring a two-color design, it addresses both juvenile and adult populations and includes authentic reports, forms and narrative from agencies throughout the country. This edition features material on motivational interviewing, restorative justice, community-based supervision, evidence-based practice, offender re-entry, and other state-of-the-art practices. Expanded review questions engage students in material as they examine the controversial issues impacting the system.

The author is very informed and writes well. It is one of the better books I have had to read (at a graduate level). Abadinski provides many detailed scenarios.

Actually all about probation and parole
By Cherie L. Williams on Dec 29, 2012
This book was very helpful to me for my college class. It gave great info in probation and parole not a corrections book. It actually is the whole book on probationa and parole not just a small section or a chapter. Perfect for beginners or anyone interested in the probation and parole field.

The book arrived in a timely manner, in perfect condition and the author wrote the book in a 'reader friendly' style. I am using this book in my course for my degree in Criminal Justice and I am quite happy with the way it is proceeding - Thanks to Amazon! Barbara
