Based on the latest direct-to-video Barbie movie, this new board book retells the exciting story and comes with a bracelet for girls to wear.
Barbie takes on a big challenge in her new movie—she plays two roles! In one, she’s a princess who feels bored and stifled by her very regimented life. In the other, she’s a rock star who is weary of touring, press junkets, and performances. When the girls decide to switch roles, they get a taste of how the other lives. Filled with memorable songs, this is sure to be a hit with Barbie fans!
Make it stop!

Uugggh. My daughter's preschool was selling this at their book fair. My 3 year old latched onto it, probably because of the bracelet. I have figured out that there was a movie this was based on, but the book is very brief and the plot is very rushed and really, really bad. It seems like it takes the top few things from other stories for young girls (princesses, pop stars, switching places, fairies, magic plants, diamond necklaces, moral about being yourself (even though its not supported anywhere in the story)and slams them together in a very fast, awkward way. I cringe every time I read it. I have to confess my daughter loves it and asks for it all the time. I just wish she didn't. Plus every time we read it we go through this "that's not princess Tory, that's Barbie" routine.
