Using colorful cartoons, illustrations, and an easy-to-read approach, The Human Body in Health and Illness, 4th Edition makes it fun to learn anatomy & physiology. Clear, step-by-step explanations provide all the information you need to know, so concepts are easy to understand even if you have a limited background in the sciences. Written by well-known educator Barbara Herlihy, the book begins with a basic discussion of the human body and cellular structure and moves toward genetics and the greater complexity of the human organism. It breaks down complex concepts and processes into digestible chunks, and new features such as Re-Think and Go Figure! help you apply what you've learned to common problems in patient care.

It is easy to read and the information is well organized. It is a good general overview of the human body anatomy and physiology. Lots of information. The disorders section of each chapter is brief though.

The anecdotes were hilarious, and the six stories about diseases and viruses were just too funny. I played Flora and her Vagina Itch. I got a perfect score on the exam by the way.
Very Good Textbook

Was required reading for my class, so it's not like I had a choice in buying it. But it's a helpful, clear textbook. Recommended.
great for beginners

The book has a fair amount of information for a beginner or high school medical student. It has basic chemistry, medical terminology, and anatomy. Its a soft back book so it doesn't fair well in backpacks so you have to be easy on it. I've been studying to be a nurse through out my years in high school and this was the easiest book to read. It has easy to read diagrams and is written the way a CNA teacher talks. As I said its great for someone just starting to explore the medical field with the age group of 12-19 but don't make it the only medical book you have. Study hard and have fun :)

This book is easy to understand and it's fun. I like the coloured pictures and how it clearly explains hard to understand terminologies. One of my favourite textbooks! I am going to hold on to this book even when Im done with my medical assistance course. I really like this book. it's awesome!

A good book to help you if you are in the medical field. Also good if you want to find out about what goes on in your body and how it can fight illness and protect you
