Million dollars, February 3rd 2006
Reviewer: Denise Small from St. Thomas, Barbados
What a great start, what a book.
I heard about this book on the Oprah show in January 2006 and heard the reviews by her staff. My mother (a christian) was looking for this book but could not remember the name of the author or title, we hunted the bookstore and was about to leave when right infront of us in the new books stand was this book.
I took it home and started reading and could not put it down, all my senses were alert as to what, why, where, when, I cried for this unknow person and was eager to get to the end to find out what happends to this twenty-three year old man/boy. Mr. Frey congrats on an excellent book, one of which I will pass onto my son (aged 10) to read, this book should be in the schools, show the youth just what drinking and drugs can do to a persons mind and body.
Thank you for advertising this book, I would never have picked up further more bought this book to read.
A Million Little Pieces, January 26th 2006

My comment is more on Oprah's tension and anger and thoughts of being duped, lied to, led by lies. I can just imagine why he twisted things as he did, and I must say I'm amazed by his immagination and capability to write an immensely moving, gut wrenching story. I can honestly say I have many memories that I believe to be true, but after speaking to teachers or my mother or father conserning things I found to have a bad impression on my growth into adulthood and treatments towards my own daughter. If I wrote a story of the intense memories in my life, 30 to 40% could be wrong, but my mind placed it in my voice as the truth as I know it. His story suddenly impresses me in his writing capabilities and his immagination, as well as capacity to grow past it all. I suddenly like it more, rather than be upset by lies or small fibs. He wrote about himself, not you, so please Oprah take a breath and quit making the man seem like an evil, dishonest person. He did the best he could. Thanks for listening.

A true account of "What does Rehab look like", January 16th 2006
Reviewer: A reader from Santa Maria, California, United States
I was spell bound by this book! It is a true account of "What does drug and Alcohol Rehab look like".
Only an addict could describe a rehab facility like this. As for myself I just got out of the Betty Ford Center, I was there for 91 days. His reality, his minimizing and his maximizing of events of what happened in Rehab was fabulous. I am surprised he remembered that much. Since I have been out of rehab, I am still remembering parts of my life that I lost through addiction. I commed you James for writing this book and Oprah for standing behind him.
As for myself, it was your TV show "Mom's on Drugs" That began the process for me to have the courage to get sober! And as for you James Frey after reading your book.YOU have given me the courage to contact Ophah so I can tell the world my story. GO WITH GOD JAMES.... THANK YOU
A Miracle, January 2nd 2006
Reviewer: Annie Ingram from Surrey, Canada
Of all days to have this show with John Frey on is not short of a miracle. I am dealing with my nephew who is a serious addicit to drugs. As I paid attention to John Frey it was as if I could see my nephews reasons and life all unfold in front of me. I watched him grow up and the light appeared only now while listening to Mr. Frey. It was facing me of why my nephew would be living the life he is. I commended Mr. Frey, for sharing his most inner moments with us all and touching and helping so many. You are a miracle Mr. Frey and I will HOLD ON!!!!!! untill no stone can be unturned. I thank you so very much.
