April Love did a marvelous job of authoring this novel which has the reader treading through difficult relationships where secrets of abuse are kept until the timing is just right to share with someone who will listen. In the process, a soul is cleansed of having to pretend that all is well in life, when all is really quite horrific. A must read!

I am a Clinically Certified Domestic Violence Counselor with a specialty in Youthful Offender Counseling, Mediation, Child Custody Evaluation, Marriage and Family Counseling and Domestic--Family Violence Counseling. I am also managing director of a group of church-sponsored safe-houses for victims of family violence. We have found the book 'Secrets of a City Bench' by April Love to be of enormous benefit to many of those who come to us for help in their situations. We feel we can highly recommend this book to others who serve their communities through service to survivors of abuse. We especially recommend this book to pastors and churches who have decided to add the issue of domestic violence to their vision of the church's mission.
