Reviewer: yurahn from Brissie, Australia
This book is an amazing feat of wordcraft, although it is german, it has been translated well, and is immensely enjoyable. Bluebear is first described as being so small he is floating in an walnut shell towards the biggest whirlpool known to man. this is the first of his twenty seven lives (he only peruses thirteen and a half of them in this book, as bluebears like to keep certain things secret, to appear more mysterious and attractive}
These lives take him from the edge of the whirlpool to the heights of natural metal mountains, between dimensions, to the middle of a desert made of sugar, into the depths of a city the size of Australia, and far more.
The ideas in this book are so outrageous they defy common sense, but they are presented in such a way as they appear feasible.
All in all, it is an amazing read, and no household is complete without it.
