Synopsis
A postal worker discovers a diary in the dead-letter office, the last testament of the deceased Fiona Walsh who was found murdered with her sister Roisin and aunt Moira in the suburbs of Dublin. The diary tells of the sisters infatuation with the beloved Irish bard Jim Quick, whose songs, tales, and dark myths charm people in every village he visits across Ireland--and renders them oblivious to the trail of dead women he leaves in his wake. The novel alternates between Fiona's story--as she slowly comes to see beyond Jim's alluring facade--and the postal worker's, as he tries to find a missing third sister, and prevent "Darling Jim" from striking again.
