Before starting to take a martial arts class, I decided to investigate the subject through reading. On the recommendation of an acquaintance I read some books by Fred Neff including Lessons From The Eastern Warriors. Kung-Fu and its derivative forms of fighting are well explored and explained in this work. Content includes history, philosophy, physical conditioning, fighting postures, ways to move, sensitive areas of the body to strike at, ranges of distance to deal with in self-defense, grappling and strategy. The book provides a wealth of information on Asian approaches to dealing with physical aggression. Lessons From The Eastern Warriors is definately a book worth reading and owning.
