Great overview for anyone interested in compiler design, March 23rd 2004
Reviewer: Virgil Palanciuc from Bucharest, Romania
Read this book if you are interested to go beyond what the "Dragon book" contains. You don't want it if you are interested in parsing - but if you want to go into optimization, this is THE BOOK. You definitely want to read this first.
Note though that this book has mainly an overview of the various techniqes - it doesn't go too much in-depth in most cases. If you are really serious about compiler design, it will not be enough - but it is certainly a very good introduction. The best one I know.
