Synopsis
A grandmother teaches her granddaughter the art of weaving in this story set in Guatemala. The duo produce all sorts of beautiful products but worry about selling them on market day. Machine produced clothes are so much less expensive and also because some villagers consider the grandmother a witch because of the birthmark on her face. On market day, the duo travel into the village together but pretend not to know each other. Their products are very popular and even outsell the less expensive machine-made works. On the bus ride back to their home, the girl and grandmother proudly sit together no longer afraid of technology or prejudice. A young Guatemalan girl and her grandmother grow closer as they weave some special creations and then make a trip to the market in hopes of selling them.
