Editorial Reviews

Product Description
This new book is devoted to the law of assignment and looks at the transfer of a species of property known as choses in action (e.g. a debt, share or a patent). Historically, tangible personal property - particularly, land - has been regarded as economically the most significant, and assignment has not received the analytical and practical treatment that it merits. However, assignment of intangible property is a gowth area of practice and this book fills an important gap in the market for specialist treatment of this difficult area.

About the Author

Marcus was educated at Balliol College, Oxford (BA 1988, BCL 1990; MA 1992) and the University of Munich. He was called to the Bar in 1991, and has been in practice at Fountain Court ever since. He specialises in all aspects of commercial law, but in particular insurance, reinsurance and banking. He was a lecturer in law at Balliol College (1991-1994), teaching contract, tort and constitutional law.
