From Booklist
This manual should fill a special niche in current gardening literature by providing up-to-date, definitive guidance to growing these brilliantly colored and lavish ornamentals. A group of Dutch experts contributes much information sufficiently advanced enough for professionals but suitable for recreational gardeners as well. Along with a short history of the plant, there is advice on pruning, propagating, and winter care. A chart categorizes more than 500 fuchsias according to each plant's color, habit, appropriate growing environment (outdoors in the ground, in containers, or greenhouses), and whether it is a winter (hardy) variety. Plant portraits contain detailed descriptions of hundreds of these showiest of flowers, and many are pictured in color illustrations.
