Product Description
A fresh look at the Tharu of Nepal. This analysis and collection of records show how the Tharu were the major settlers of the Tarai, cultivating the land to feed the people and providing taxes to fill the royal treasury. Presented here in full color facsimile, these handsome legal documents shed authentic light on the development of Nepal's Tarai. Covers 1726-1971. English translation and notes.
